Michigan State University students in the Holekamp Lab blog about their experiences in Kenya, research on spotted hyenas and adventures in the field.
Wonderful photos Kate. The pups are so cute and Agent Orange does seem very patient with her youngs.
Remember, they're called "cubs," not pups!
Agent Orange also seems appropriately named, with her rather rusty coat.
Actually, she looks quite contented. Beatifically so, in fact.
Is it just an accident of camera angle for particular photos, or do hyenas have distinct facial expressions? Agent Orange seems to be smiling at her brood, beatifically so, as poster Robin said.
